Thu Jan 09 17:52:10 UTC 2025: ## Coimbatore Police Crack Burglary Ring, Arrest Rajasthan Man and Minor
**COIMBATORE, January 9, 2025** – A special team of Coimbatore City Police has arrested a 40-year-old man from Rajasthan and a 17-year-old boy in connection with a series of burglaries in Singanallur and Peelamedu. The arrests, made in Ajmer district with the assistance of Rajasthan police, bring to a close a string of recent robberies.
The suspects, identified as Ratan and the minor, were apprehended at their hideout and brought to Coimbatore by train. They have been remanded in judicial custody. Police sources indicate Ratan masterminded at least three burglaries in Coimbatore and one in Karamadai, in addition to numerous other offenses across southern India.
Ratan’s unique method involved posing as a balloon seller, leaving coded markings on targeted houses before executing the burglaries and fleeing to Rajasthan. He was previously imprisoned for a year and a half in Tiruchi for a similar theft, having only recently been released. The Coimbatore police are currently searching for two other accomplices.
