**Bengaluru, January 9, 2025** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is preparing for a busy first half of 2025, with several major space missions on the horizon. This was revealed following a review meeting between Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh and senior ISRO officials in Bengaluru on Thursday.

The meeting, attended by outgoing ISRO chairman S. Somnath and incoming chairman V. Narayanan, covered upcoming missions including two GSLV missions, a commercial LVM3 mission for a global client (AST SpaceMobile Inc.), and the highly anticipated first uncrewed orbital mission of the Gaganyaan program.

ISRO’s immediate focus is on the GSLV-F15/NVS-02 mission, scheduled for late January. This mission will launch the second navigation satellite in the NVS series. Further, the joint ISRO-NASA NISAR mission (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture RADAR) is slated for launch via the GSLV-F16 mission. Both launch vehicles are undergoing final integration at Sriharikota.

A commercial launch using the LVM3-M5 is also planned for March, carrying BlueBird Block-2 satellites for AST SpaceMobile Inc. under a contract with NewSpace India Ltd. Finally, the first uncrewed Gaganyaan orbital mission, utilizing a human-rated LVM3, is set to validate the systems for future human spaceflight. The launch vehicle integration is underway, with the Orbital Module in its final preparation phase. The Department of Space confirmed these timelines.
