**Mangaluru, January 10, 2025** – Mangaluru police have arrested K.S. Nidhin Kumar, a resident of Thrissur, Kerala, for his alleged involvement in a ₹10.32 lakh online investment fraud. Kumar allegedly received ₹1 lakh in commission for facilitating the transfer of the defrauded amount to various accounts. The case, registered in 2024 at the Cyber Economic and Narcotic (CEN) Crime station, involved a victim who lost the money after being promised high returns on share market investments. Kumar has been remanded in 15 days judicial custody, while the police continue their search for other suspects.
In a separate incident, another Mangaluru resident fell victim to an online scam involving an air ticket booking site, losing ₹9.16 lakh. The victim, who registered on the ‘Apna’ portal, was contacted by someone identifying themselves as Nisha Agrawal, who directed them to invest through the ‘Airpaz’ app. After transferring a total of ₹9.16 lakh between December 14, 2024 and January 3, 2025, the victim realized they had been cheated when their requests for commission were met with demands for further investment. A complaint has been filed with the Mangaluru East police.
