**Hyderabad, January 10, 2025** – The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) is launching a three-month initiative to verify the full tank levels (FTL) of all Hyderabad lakes. This follows resident complaints of flooding due to heightened weir levels, raised during a recent public grievance redressal forum.
Commissioner A.V. Ranganath announced the plan after a Wednesday field inspection of several lakes, including Turkayamjal, Rayani Cheruvu, and Dilawar Khan Cheruvu, where complaints were most concentrated. He stated that independent assessments of the FTL will be conducted by engineering experts from JNTU, IIT, and BITS Pilani to ensure impartiality. Commissioner Ranganath assured residents that action will be taken following discussions with irrigation and revenue officials.
