**COIMBATORE, January 9, 2025** – BJP state president K. Annamalai criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for passing a resolution in the Legislative Assembly urging the withdrawal of the Draft UGC Regulations 2025. Annamalai, speaking in Coimbatore on Thursday, demanded that the Chief Minister explain the reasoning behind the resolution, arguing that the central government has already provided a timeframe for objections until February 5th. He accused the Chief Minister of unnecessary politicization of the issue and urged him to address it constructively.
Annamalai also addressed the issue of Tungsten mining, stating that the central government has left the decision to the state government. He similarly criticized the Chief Minister for politicizing this issue and called for a swift resolution.
Finally, commenting on Naam Tamizhar Katchi leader Seeman’s remarks about Periyar, Annamalai stated that such views should not be aired publicly.
