Thu Jan 09 17:16:59 UTC 2025: ## VIT and RIT Sign Eight MoUs to Boost AI and Data Science Collaboration
**Chennai, January 9, 2025** – Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) have signed eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to foster collaboration in artificial intelligence and data science. The agreements, signed at the VIT-RIT-Industry AI and Data Science Summit 2025 in Chennai, will establish two collaborative Centers of Excellence at VIT’s Vellore and Chennai campuses.
The MoUs also pave the way for a streamlined pathway for VIT graduates to pursue RIT’s graduate programs in data science through 2+2 and 1+1 year programs. Furthermore, the institutions will explore joint student projects and academic exchange opportunities. VIT students who have completed their 12th standard will receive preferential consideration for admission to RIT.
The signing ceremony was attended by VIT Founder-Chancellor G. Viswanathan, RIT Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Prabu David, and RIT Associate Provost for International Education and Global Programs James Myers. This significant partnership aims to strengthen educational and research opportunities in the rapidly growing fields of AI and data science.
