**NEW DELHI –** Several prominent Delhi schools received bomb threat emails on Wednesday, triggering investigations by authorities. The threats, eerily similar to a series of hoax threats last year, targeted schools including Delhi Public School (Vasant Vihar and RK Puram), Blue Bells School, and Tagore International School.
The emails claimed a significant quantity of explosives had been planted on school grounds, highlighting a perceived lack of stringent bag checks as an opportunity for the perpetrators. The sender demonstrated knowledge of the schools’ exam schedules and student movements, stating explosives were placed in multiple key locations. The threat specifically mentioned that students not involved in exams would be vulnerable due to their location on school grounds.
Police sources revealed the email’s content, emphasizing the sender’s awareness of school routines and their claim of having planted “massive and highly dangerous explosives.” These threats echo a wave of similar incidents last year, when over one hundred Delhi schools were targeted with ultimately false bomb threats. In one instance, Delhi Police identified a student as the source of a threat. Authorities are currently investigating Wednesday’s threats to determine their credibility and identify those responsible.
