**VIZIANAGARAM, Andhra Pradesh, January 9, 2025** – Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders Avanapu Vikram and Avanapu Bhavana have urged the Andhra Pradesh government to extend the proposed Visakhapatnam-Bhogapuram metro rail project to Vizianagaram. They argue that extending the line 20 km from Rajapulova junction would significantly benefit the thousands of commuters who travel daily between the two cities.

Mr. Vikram highlighted the project’s proposed ₹17,232 crore cost and 76.9 km length, emphasizing the economic advantages of extending it to Vizianagaram, fostering development and establishing the cities as a twin-city region. He called for the inclusion of this extension in the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

Ms. Bhavana further advocated for the construction of a 100-foot road connecting Ice Factory Junction to Bhogapuram via Chintalavalasa, citing the upcoming Bhogapuram airport and its potential to boost economic activity. She noted that this road is already part of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s master plan and pledged to bring the issue to the attention of Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.
