Wed Jan 08 21:10:00 UTC 2025: **Everest Group Names Jim Williamson Acting CEO Following Andrade’s Departure**
HAMILTON, Bermuda–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Everest Group, Ltd. (NYSE: EG), a global leader in property, casualty, and specialty insurance and reinsurance, announced today that Jim Williamson, its Executive Vice President and Group Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed Acting CEO, effective immediately. He will also join Everest’s Board of Directors.
This follows the departure of Juan C. Andrade, who served as President and CEO since 2020. Andrade is leaving to take the CEO position at another financial services firm.
Williamson, a 20-year insurance industry veteran, joined Everest in 2020. He has held progressively senior roles, leading the Reinsurance Division since 2021 and, most recently, overseeing both the Reinsurance and Insurance businesses since March 2024. His previous experience includes senior positions at The Hartford, Chubb, and ACE.
Joseph Taranto, Chairman of the Board, expressed confidence in Williamson’s ability to lead Everest, highlighting his extensive experience across various sectors and geographies. He stated that Williamson will work alongside CFO Mark Kociancic to achieve Everest’s long-term strategic goals. The company also expressed its best wishes to Andrade in his new role.
