**Madurai, January 9, 2025** – Renowned violinist Embar Kannan captivated audiences at the 73rd Music and Arts Festival of Sri Sathguru Sangeetha Samajam in Madurai with a mesmerizing “silent violin” (amplified violin) performance. The concert, held on the sixth day of the festival, featured a collaboration with keyboard player Sathya (K Sathyanarayanan), Poongulam Subramaniam on mridangam, and Sri Ganapathy on tabla and drum pads.

Kannan’s performance included a diverse repertoire, ranging from a Mallari in Gambheera naatai to Papanasam Sivan’s “Gajavadana Karuna” in Sri Ranjani. He showcased his mastery with a viloma style rendition of the Vanaspati raga and infused GNB’s “Ni Padame” and “Sarasvati Namostute” with vibrant energy. A highlight was the RTP (ragam thanam pallavi) featuring the raga on violin, thalam on keyboard, and a collaborative Pallavi “Maya,” complete with impressive Swarakorvai and Ragamalika swarams.
