Thu Jan 09 02:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Former Minister Slams Arrested Gold Trader Bobby Chemmannur
**Alappuzha, Kerala:** Former Minister and CPM leader G. Sudhakaran launched a scathing attack on Bobby Chemmannur, the gold trader recently arrested on sexual assault charges. Sudhakaran described Chemmannur as a “complete disgrace,” questioning why police hadn’t acted sooner on multiple allegations of sexual harassment against him.
“This man is a complete disgrace,” Sudhakaran stated at a book release event in Kayamkulam. “I told my wife 15 years ago that he was a disgrace. He’s arrogant because of his money and thinks he can get away with anything. He’s primitive and barbaric; his only culture is sexual.” He further lamented the delay in police action, suggesting that had the incidents occurred in Alappuzha, they would have taken matters into their own hands.
Sudhakaran criticized Kerala’s claim of being a frontrunner in various fields, highlighting this case as an example of moral degradation. He questioned the state’s self-proclaimed superiority, stating that such boasting and hollow rhetoric have no place in history. He emphasized the need for immediate police action against such crimes, pointing out the police’s failure to proactively investigate earlier complaints against Chemmannur despite multiple allegations.
