**Chennai, January 8, 2025** – A search and rescue operation is underway in Chennai after a woman reportedly jumped into the Cooum river near the Gymkhana Club on Tuesday afternoon. According to city police, a motorist alerted traffic officers on Pallavan Salai around 4:30 p.m., stating he had witnessed a woman, estimated to be around 40 years old, jump into the river.
