**Las Vegas, NV – January 2025** – NVIDIA today announced that its autonomous vehicle (AV) platform, NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Hyperion, has achieved key safety certifications from TÜV SÜD and TÜV Rheinland, two leading automotive safety and cybersecurity assessors. This milestone underscores the platform’s advanced safety features and positions it as a leader in AV technology.
DRIVE Hyperion, the first end-to-end autonomous driving platform, integrates the DRIVE AGX system-on-a-chip (SoC), DriveOS operating system, a sensor suite, and a level 2+ driving stack. Major automakers like Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar Land Rover, and Volvo Cars are already utilizing the modular and scalable platform.
The latest iteration of DRIVE Hyperion, launching in the first half of 2025, will utilize the high-performance DRIVE AGX Thor SoC, based on the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture. This powerful platform is designed for both passenger and commercial vehicles and will support the next generation of autonomous driving capabilities (AV 2.0).
“A billion vehicles driving trillions of miles each year move the world,” said Jensen Huang, NVIDIA founder and CEO. “With autonomous vehicles now here, the NVIDIA Blackwell-powered platform will shift this revolution into high gear.”
Beyond the hardware, NVIDIA’s commitment to safety extends to its newly accredited AI Systems Inspection Lab, which will help partners meet evolving safety and AI standards. This is the first time a platform company has received such comprehensive third-party assessments covering its entire autonomous driving system. The company also highlighted its three-computer approach to automotive development—incorporating DGX systems for AI model training, the Omniverse platform for simulation, and the new Cosmos world foundation model platform—to accelerate the development and deployment of autonomous vehicles.
