Wed Jan 08 16:08:55 UTC 2025: ## Sanitation Workers Praised for Spotless State School Arts Festival

**Thiruvananthapuram, January 8, 2025** – The success of the Kerala State School Arts Festival is being attributed in part to the tireless efforts of the Haritha Karma Sena (Green Army) sanitation workers. Despite the large crowds at the 25 festival venues, the workers maintained impeccable cleanliness throughout the five-day event. Teams were assigned to each venue daily, often working late into the evening, with some completing their shifts as late as 10:30 p.m.

Two workers, Keerthi and Lathika, highlighted the positive experience, noting not only their dedication to their work but also their enjoyment of the performances at venues such as St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School. This year also saw a significant reduction in plastic waste, a point of pride for the green warriors.

The festival’s organization was further enhanced by the use of the Ulsav mobile app, developed by KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education). The app provided attendees with real-time information on schedules, venues, event statuses, results, and live streams of select performances, significantly improving the overall festival experience for participants and spectators.
