Tue Jan 07 19:16:26 UTC 2025: ## Drunken Brawl Leads to Death of Food Delivery Worker in Chennai
**Chennai, January 8, 2025** – A 25-year-old food delivery worker, M. Arun, died following a drunken brawl with a friend in Perungudi on Monday night. According to City Police, Arun and his friend, Vinayagam, were consuming alcohol near Arun’s workplace when an argument escalated into a physical altercation. Vinayagam struck Arun, rendering him unconscious.
Despite attempts by friends to revive him, Arun remained unresponsive. Vinayagam fled the scene. Arun was taken to a private hospital, but was subsequently transferred to a government hospital due to his intoxicated state. He was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police, alerted by the hospital, recovered Arun’s body and sent it for post-mortem. Based on information provided by Arun’s friends, Vinayagam, who has a prior POCSO case against him, was apprehended. The police are investigating the incident further.
