**Vijayawada, January 8, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh state government will release ₹500 crore to settle part of the outstanding dues owed to hospitals in the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva network, according to Health Special Chief Secretary M.T. Krishna Babu. The announcement follows a meeting between officials and members of the A.P. Specialist Hospital Association (ASHA) on Tuesday in Mangalagiri.

ASHA members recently held a press conference highlighting the critical financial situation faced by network hospitals due to an eight-month delay in government payments. The previous government left behind over ₹2,221.6 crore in unpaid dues, Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar Yadav stated. He emphasized the TDP-led NDA government’s commitment to ensuring healthcare for all, despite existing financial constraints. The government is actively working to clear the accumulated dues, the Minister added.
