Tue Jan 07 10:17:19 UTC 2025: **Srisailam Temple to Host Grand Sankranti Brahmotsavams**
**NANDYAL, January 7, 2025** – The Sri Bhramarambha Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam is gearing up for its annual Sankranti Brahmotsavams, a week-long festival commencing January 11th and concluding on January 17th. Temple Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao announced a detailed schedule of events.
The festivities will begin with the Yagasala Pravesam by Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy at 8:45 a.m. on January 11th, followed by various pujas and rituals throughout the day, culminating in the Dwajarohana ceremony in the evening. Daily special pujas, including Rudra Homam and Chandi Homam, are planned.
From January 12th, vahana sevas (processions with sacred vehicles) will be conducted for the presiding deities. These will include Brungi Vahana seva (January 12th), Kailasa Vahana seva (January 13th), Nandi Vahana seva (January 14th), and Ravana Vahana seva (January 15th). The Brahmotsava Kalyanam (celestial wedding ceremony) will take place on Makara Sankranti (January 15th).
The final days will feature Yaga Purnahuthi, Kalasodwasana, and Trishula Snanam (January 16th morning), followed by Sadasyam, Nagavalli, and Dwajavarohanam (January 16th evening). The Brahmotsavams will conclude on January 17th with Aswa Vahana seva, Pushpotsavam, Sayanotsavam, and Ekantha Seva.
Importantly, Mr. Srinivasa Rao stated that all arjitha sevas (paid services) and other special pujas, including Rudra Homam and Mrutyunjaya Homam, will be suspended from January 11th to 17th to facilitate the Brahmotsavams.
