**Patna, Bihar –** Jan Suraaj Party founder and political strategist Prashant Kishor has been admitted to the ICU of Medanta Hospital in Patna after his health deteriorated during a hunger strike. Kishor, who began his fast-unto-death on January 2nd, is protesting the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC)’s handling of a leaked question paper for the 70th combined (preliminary) competitive test.
Kishor was arrested on Monday for his illegal protest at Gandhi Maidan but released on bail later that day. Despite his release, he continued his fast at his residence. Concerns about his deteriorating health, marked by dehydration and a throat infection, led to his hospitalization. While being transported, Kishor stated he had consumed water but would continue his protest.
The BPSC, facing allegations of a question paper leak in the December 13th exam, ordered a retest on January 4th for affected candidates. Although the retest reportedly proceeded without incident, Kishor maintains his call for the complete cancellation of the exam. An FIR was filed against Kishor and 150 supporters for their unauthorized protest. Kishor claims to have received unconditional bail after initially rejecting conditions he deemed unreasonable. His condition is being monitored closely.
