Tue Jan 07 16:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Nvidia Unveils New Gaming Chips Powered by AI at CES 2025

**Las Vegas, NV (January 7, 2025)** – Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a new family of gaming graphics processing units (GPUs), the RTX 50 series, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025. These chips leverage Nvidia’s cutting-edge “Blackwell” AI technology, initially developed for data centers, to deliver significantly enhanced gaming visuals.

The new GPUs boast movie-quality graphics, particularly advancements in shaders that allow for hyperrealistic detail, such as accurately rendering imperfections on surfaces like a ceramic teapot. The AI also improves the accuracy of human faces in games, addressing a common area of criticism for unrealistically rendered characters.

The RTX 50 series will range in price from $549 to $1,999. Top-tier models will launch on January 30th, with lower-tier models following in February. Nvidia claims its mid-range $549 chip will match the performance of its previous flagship, the RTX 4090, which retailed for $1,600.

The announcement comes as Nvidia’s stock hit a record high, valuing the company at $3.66 trillion, making it the second most valuable publicly listed company globally. Huang’s keynote at CES 2025, which runs from January 7th to 10th, served as the platform for unveiling these new chips and further highlighting Nvidia’s expansion into the AI market.
