Mon Jan 06 04:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Daniel Craig’s Golden Globe Nomination for “Queer”
**LOS ANGELES, CA** – Daniel Craig is nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor (Drama) for his performance in Luca Guadagnino’s film, *Queer*. The critically acclaimed film, based on a semi-autobiographical novella by William S. Burroughs, follows Craig’s character, William Lee, an American expat in 1950s Mexico City, as he navigates a complex relationship with a younger soldier.
Screenwriter Justin Kuritzkes describes Lee as a “tender, embarrassing guy who loves in an almost adolescent way,” a portrayal Craig fully embodies, according to Kuritzkes. Craig himself notes his character’s search for something, ultimately finding it (perhaps awkwardly) in his relationship with Eugene Allerton, played by Drew Starkey.
*Queer* had a limited theatrical release on November 27th, 2024, and a nationwide release beginning December 13th, 2024. It will eventually stream on Max. While the exact streaming date remains unannounced, Craig’s Golden Globe nomination is generating significant buzz for the film.
