**New York, NY** – Former New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has declared he’s certain he’ll be returning to the helm of the team. In an interview with ESPN New York, Ryan stated unequivocally, “100 percent, absolutely I do,” when asked about his chances of regaining the position. He attributed his confidence to being the “best guy” and claimed there isn’t a close competitor.

Ryan emphasized the importance of connecting with both the players and the fanbase, a quality he believes he possesses more than other candidates like Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, whom he praised personally while arguing for his own superior suitability. “The way they play, that’s the most important thing,” Ryan said, contrasting his approach with a more X’s and O’s focused candidate.

While Ryan led the Jets to two AFC Championship Game appearances, his overall coaching record, which includes several seasons without playoff appearances both with the Jets and Buffalo Bills, might seem to contradict his claim.
