**New Delhi, India –** Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has launched the Redmi 14C in India, a budget smartphone priced starting at ₹9,999. The phone aims to build on the success of its predecessor, the Redmi 13C, offering several key upgrades at a competitive price point.
The Redmi 14C boasts a larger 6.88-inch Dot Drop HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 600 nits brightness, surpassing the Redmi 13C’s 6.74-inch 90Hz display. Under the hood, the 14C features a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor built on a 4nm process, compared to the Redmi 13C’s MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ (6nm). Both phones offer expandable RAM options.
In terms of camera capabilities, both phones sport a 50MP main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps. However, the Redmi 14C’s camera offers additional features like FilmCamera, HDR Mode, Night Mode, Portrait Mode, and Time Lapse. The front cameras differ slightly, with the Redmi 14C featuring an 8MP sensor versus the Redmi 13C’s 5MP.
Battery life is another area of improvement, with the Redmi 14C packing a larger 5160mAh battery with 18W fast charging (a 33W charger is included in the box), exceeding the Redmi 13C’s 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Both phones feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Redmi 14C is available in three variants: 4GB+64GB (₹9,999), 4GB+128GB (₹10,999), and 6GB+128GB (₹11,999). Sales begin January 10th on Amazon and Flipkart. The Redmi 13C is currently available on Amazon India with prices starting at ₹9,099 for the 4GB+128GB variant.
While both phones offer similar specifications at comparable prices, the Redmi 14C presents notable upgrades in display, processor, and battery capacity, making it a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers.
