Mon Jan 06 23:04:34 IST 2025: ## Prashant Kishor Released on Bail, Vows to Continue Protest

**PATNA** – Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj Party, was released on unconditional bail from Beur Jail in Patna after 16 hours in custody. Despite his release, Kishor stated he will continue his fast unto death, shifting the protest to Patna’s Gandhi Maidan. He added that his experience highlighted the widespread support for his movement, even within the police force.

Kishor’s arrest, which sparked immediate political reactions, has exposed divisions within the ruling coalition. While the Janata Dal (United), led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has yet to officially comment, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has criticized the government, suggesting the arrest revealed the administration’s vulnerability.

The circumstances surrounding Kishor’s acceptance of bail, despite earlier reports that he had refused, remain unclear. His claims of police misconduct are also yet to be independently verified. The ongoing protest at Gandhi Maidan is expected to draw significant attention in the coming days.
