**Madurai, January 6, 2025** – G.S. Anitha has assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Madurai North, succeeding Madhu Kumari. A 2009-batch Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ms. Anitha previously served as DCP (Headquarters) in Tirunelveli City Police. Her career includes postings as DSP in Nilgiris and Coimbatore, and as Additional Superintendent of Police in Erode, Coimbatore, and Thoothukudi. This is Ms. Anitha’s second stint as DCP Madurai North; she briefly held the position in January 2024 before a transfer.
