TIRUCHI, January 7, 2025 – Bharathidasan University’s Centre of Distance and Online Education (CDOE) is seeking a technology service provider (TSP) to enhance its online learning platform. The university, which currently serves approximately 100,000 students, issued a call for expressions of interest from TSPs to provide Learning Management System (LMS) support, aligning with UGC guidelines for a Platform as a Service (PaaS) model.

The move aims to improve accessibility for students in remote areas and streamline CDOE operations. The new LMS will support the university’s 41 undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered through online and distance learning, including its popular MBA program. This year’s intake of 40 new students reflects a smaller number of admissions due to the shift to a new system.

CDOE Director K. Thamaraiselvi stated that the university is updating its portal to accommodate calendar year admissions starting later this month, running through March, to better serve professionals seeking to transition to distance learning. The university currently holds admissions twice a year, in July and January. TSPs must submit their expressions of interest by January 13th via the university’s website.
