KAPALUA, Hawaii – Hideki Matsuyama holds a one-stroke lead after two rounds of the Sentry Tournament of Champions, the first Signature Event of the 2025 PGA Tour season. Matsuyama fired back-to-back 65s to reach 16-under par at The Plantation Course at Kapalua. Chasing him in second place is Collin Morikawa, who shot a 65 highlighted by five consecutive birdies.

The star-studded field includes 31 PGA Tour winners (15 of whom are first-time winners) and 29 players from the top 50 of the 2024 FedExCup standings. Corey Conners and Maverick McNealy are tied for third at 14-under, while 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley sits tied for fifth with Tom Hoge at 13-under. Viktor Hovland, playing despite a recently broken pinky toe, is currently at 7-under.

The tournament features several notable storylines, including Max Homa’s significant equipment changes and Justin Thomas’s renewed focus following his Presidents Cup omission. Other players making headlines include Xander Schauffele’s switch to Callaway equipment and Will Zalatoris outlining his ambitious goals for the new season. Max Homa will also temporarily have Michael Greller caddying for him.
