**Detroit, MI –** Rapper Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit alleging assault and battery filed by her former manager, Brandon Garrett. According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, the incident occurred following a Minaj concert in Detroit in April 2024.
Garrett claims Minaj became enraged after learning he had previously delegated the task of picking up her prescription medication to another person. The lawsuit alleges Minaj verbally abused Garrett, using profanity and threatening him before physically striking him in the face, causing his head to snap back and his hat to fall off. Garrett further alleges that Minaj then struck his wrist, knocking documents to the floor.
Following the alleged assault, Garrett claims he was left stranded in Detroit after being denied access to the tour bus and remained locked in a restroom for hours fearing for his safety.
The lawsuit, filed by high-profile attorney Thomas Feher, seeks damages for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Nicki Minaj’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, issued a statement to TMZ stating that no complaint had yet been formally served and that if the allegations are as reported, they are “completely false and frivolous.” Burstein expressed confidence the matter would be resolved swiftly in Minaj’s favor.
