**Bengaluru, January 5, 2025** – A tragic incident unfolded in Old Chandapura, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, where a 21-year-old man strangled his mother to death before taking his own life. The incident, which came to light Sunday morning, involved Mahalakshmi, 41, and her son Ramesh.
Police investigations revealed that Ramesh, a chronic alcoholic, had a history of drunken fights with his mother. The fatal altercation occurred Saturday night following another such dispute. Ramesh allegedly used a mobile charger wire to strangle Mahalakshmi. Upon realizing she was dead, he ended his own life.
The family, originally from Chitradurga district, had relocated to Bengaluru several years ago in search of work as daily wage laborers. They resided in a rented house.
Neighbors alerted authorities after Mahalakshmi failed to emerge from her home on Sunday. Police discovered both bodies and transported them to a private hospital in Attibele for post-mortem examinations. Authorities are continuing their investigation.
