**Beijing, January 4, 2025** – China has pledged to further strengthen its relationship with Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) following President Xi Jinping’s successful state visit to the region in November. Director-General Zhang Run of the Foreign Ministry’s Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs made the announcement at a meeting with LAC diplomatic envoys in Beijing yesterday.

Zhang hailed President Xi’s visit as a resounding success, stating it had injected “Chinese wisdom” into global governance and significantly advanced the building of a “China-LAC community with a shared future.” He described the conditions for developing bilateral relations as “unprecedentedly favorable.”
