**Chennai, January 4, 2025** – Promising young ophthalmologists received prestigious awards at the inauguration of “Surgical Strike 2025,” a two-day conference held at Rajan Eye Care Hospital in Chennai. The event, a collaboration between Rajan Eye Care Hospital, the Young Ophthalmological Society of India (YOSI), Madras City Ophthalmic Association, and the Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association (TNOA), brought together over 25 surgeons and 100 faculty members from across India.

The conference featured innovative video-assisted skill transfer sessions led by YOSI faculty, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and expertise among practicing ophthalmologists, postgraduates, and fellows. Live surgeries from various parts of the country and 3D surgery demonstrations were also showcased.

Several individuals received the Meritorious Service Award and Gold Medal for their significant contributions to the field. Awardees included Dr. Diva Kant Misra, YOSI president; Karan Bhatia, YOSI vice-president; Nilesh Kumar, YOSI secretary; and YOSI governing council members Prasanna Ramesh and Aditya Sethu. The awards were presented by prominent figures in the ophthalmology community, including Amar Agarwal (MD, Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital), Arulmozhi Verman (TNOA president), Aravind Srinivasan (director of projects, Aravind Eye Care), and Sujatha Mohan and Mohan Rajan of Rajan Eye Care Hospital.
