**Vijayawada, January 4, 2025** – Telugu film actors K. Brahmanandam and Renu Desai joined in celebrating Women Teachers’ Day in Vijayawada on Friday, emphasizing the importance of unity among educators. The event, organized by the Bharat Chaitanya Yuvajana Party, honored female teachers from various institutions on the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, India’s first female teacher.
Brahmanandam stressed the need to overcome divisions based on region and language among teachers, highlighting the shared goal of spreading education. He lauded the diversity among educators as a valuable tool for teaching about the world’s vastness, drawing parallels to India’s “Unity in Diversity.” He urged attendees to emulate the ideologies of leaders like Savitribai Phule and Andhra Pradesh’s Dokka Seethamma.
Desai spoke about Savitribai Phule’s groundbreaking contribution to education, particularly for girls and marginalized communities. She highlighted Phule’s establishment of a school for girls in 1848 with her husband, Jyotirao Phule, and her legacy as a champion of women’s rights. Desai underscored the crucial role teachers play in children’s lives, encompassing education, mentorship, inspiration, confidence-building, and overall well-being.
