**NEW DELHI, January 4, 2025** – The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced an extension to the deadline for postgraduate medical candidates to resign from their Round 1 and Round 2 allotted seats. The new deadline is 6 PM on January 8, 2025. This extension follows numerous requests from candidates citing various reasons for needing to vacate their seats.

Candidates who wish to resign, including those who have been upgraded in Round 2, must do so through the official MCC website and will forfeit their security deposit. Crucially, candidates must also physically report to the allotted college to finalize the resignation process. The MCC emphasizes that online resignation confirmation through the provided portal is mandatory; failure to do so will render the resignation invalid.

Meanwhile, the MCC announced that Round 3 seat allotments will be released today, January 4th, 2025. Candidates allocated seats in Round 3 must report to their respective colleges between January 6th and 13th, 2025, with verification scheduled for January 14th and 15th.
