Sat Jan 04 16:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Gators Defensive Back Trikweze Bridges Enters NFL Draft

**GAINESVILLE, FL** – University of Florida defensive back Trikweze Bridges announced he will forgo his remaining eligibility and enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Bridges, who transferred to Florida after four seasons at Oregon, made the announcement via Instagram, thanking both fan bases and his teammates for their support.

Bridges, a key veteran presence on the Gators’ defense, played in all 13 games during the 2024 season, recording 69 tackles, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. His standout performance in the October 19th victory over Kentucky, where he tallied 11 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception, highlighted his contributions.

His decision comes less than 24 hours after accepting an invitation to the Hula Bowl, an all-star game for draft-eligible seniors. Other Gators heading to the NFL Draft, including running back Montrell Johnson Jr. and offensive lineman Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, will participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl.

While the loss of Bridges’ veteran leadership will be felt, Florida’s defense, under coordinator Ron Roberts, is expected to build on its strong finish to the 2024 season, which saw 12 turnovers and 20 sacks in the final four games, including the Gasparilla Bowl.
