**Erode, Tamil Nadu – January 4, 2025** – Ahead of the Pongal festival, Tamil Nadu Food Safety and Drug Administration Department officials conducted inspections of jaggery markets and manufacturing units across Erode district to combat the sale of adulterated products. On Saturday, officials inspected a private jaggery market near Chithode, advising traders against selling adulterated jaggery or using chemicals banned under the Food Safety and Standards Act. Samples of jaggery were collected from a godown for laboratory analysis. These proactive measures aim to ensure consumers have access to safe and pure jaggery during the upcoming festival.
