**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, January 4, 2025** – The Guruvayur Madurai Express experienced a disruption on Friday afternoon when several coaches detached from the train near Aryankavu railway station in Kollam. The incident, which occurred around 3 p.m., involved the detachment of middle coaches. No injuries were reported, thanks to the automatic braking system on the detached carriages which brought them to a safe stop.
Railway officials swiftly reattached the coaches, causing a 40-minute delay. The train resumed its journey after the repair. A full investigation into the cause of the detachment is underway, according to railway sources.
