Fri Jan 03 18:12:53 UTC 2025: ## Mud Wall Collapse Kills Mother and Son, Injures Child in India
**SAINI, INDIA –** A tragic accident claimed the lives of an 86-year-old woman and her 56-year-old son in the Ajuwa locality of Saini on Friday. The two were killed when a mud wall collapsed on their thatched house, also injuring the woman’s 12-year-old grandson.
According to Saini Station House Officer Brijesh Karwaria, Shakeela Bano, 86, and her son Sharif were asleep with their young son, Shah Mohammad, when the wall crumbled. Neighbors rescued the family, but Bano and Sharif were pronounced dead at the scene. Shah Mohammad sustained serious injuries and was transported to the district hospital for treatment. A calf also died in the collapse.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations. The incident highlights the precarious living conditions faced by some residents in the area.
