**PANAJI, GOA –** A 28-year-old tourist from Andhra Pradesh, Bolla Ravi Teja, was allegedly murdered by the staff of a beach shack in Calangute, North Goa, during New Year’s celebrations. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.

Teja, a businessman from Tadepalligudem, was in Goa with friends to celebrate the New Year. A dispute arose with the shack owner, Angel Silveria, and staff over extra charges for food ordered after midnight. The argument escalated, resulting in Teja being allegedly beaten with a stick, leading to his death.

Calangute police have arrested four individuals: the shack owner, Angel Silveria, and three others—Shubert Silveria, Kamal Sonar, and Anil Bista. They have been charged under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other relevant charges.

Teja’s body was transported to Tadepalligudem on Thursday, where his family performed the final rites. Eluru Range Inspector General of Police G.V.G. Ashok Kumar confirmed the incident and stated that the case is being investigated by North Goa police. The incident has sparked outrage and highlights safety concerns for tourists in the region.
