**New Delhi** – A prayer meet held at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj today saw a large gathering of prominent political figures paying their respects to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The event, which included Kirtan and Antim Ardas, attracted a cross-party representation, highlighting the late leader’s wide-ranging influence.

Among those present were Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and several other prominent figures from various political parties, including former Chief Ministers and Union Ministers from both the Congress and BJP. The list of attendees also included former Planning Commission Deputy Chairperson Montek Singh Ahluwalia.

This follows a Friday ‘Akhand Path’ (continuous recitation of Guru Granth Sahib) held at Dr. Singh’s residence, also attended by several dignitaries, including former Vice President Hamid Ansari. During the Friday service, Dr. Singh’s wife, Gursharan Kaur, performed a Shabad.

Dr. Singh, who served as Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, is widely credited with being a key architect of India’s economic liberalization and reforms. The diverse attendance at both events underscores the profound impact he had on Indian politics and society.
