**Vijayawada:** Actress Renu Desai lauded Savitribai Phule’s significant contributions to women’s education at a women’s teachers’ day event in Vijayawada. The event, organized by the Bharat Chaitanya Yuvajana Party (BCYP) to commemorate Savitribai Phule’s birth anniversary, saw Desai speak alongside prominent figures including actor Brahmanandam and BCYP president Ramachandra Yadav.
Desai, emphasizing her distance from politics, stated that she attended the event solely to honor Phule’s legacy. She highlighted Phule’s tireless efforts in promoting women’s education and underscored the crucial role teachers play in shaping students’ lives and their contributions to society.
The event also included the presentation of awards to outstanding female teachers. Professor Suraj Mandal from Delhi University was also in attendance.
