**Mumbai, India** – Hyundai Motor India Limited has launched the highly anticipated Hyundai Creta Electric, marking a significant step towards mainstream electric vehicle adoption in the country. The all-electric SUV, based on the popular Creta model, boasts a range of features designed to appeal to a wide consumer base.
The Creta Electric features Hyundai’s global Pixel design language, highlighted by a unique pixelated grille incorporating the charging port, and similar design elements on the bumpers and taillights. Aerodynamic features like active air flaps and 17-inch aero alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tires contribute to improved range and efficiency.
Two battery options are available: a 51.4 kWh long-range pack offering a 473 km range and a 42 kWh standard pack with a 390 km range. The long-range model boasts impressive acceleration, reaching 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds. Charging options include DC fast charging (10-80% in 58 minutes) and an 11kW AC home charger (full charge in four hours).
Technological advancements include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, i-Pedal technology for single-pedal driving, a digital key, and a shift-by-wire system. Four trims (Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence) are offered with eight monotone and two dual-tone color options, including three matte finishes.
Addressing infrastructure concerns, Hyundai plans to establish 600 public fast-charging stations across India over the next seven years, supplementing the over 10,000 charging points already accessible via the myHyundai app.
The Hyundai Creta Electric aims to make electric vehicles more accessible and appealing to Indian consumers through a combination of familiar styling, strong performance, advanced technology, and a commitment to expanding charging infrastructure. Its localized production and comprehensive charging solutions position it as a strong contender in the growing Indian EV market.
