VISAKHAPATNAM, January 3, 2025 – GITAM Deemed to be University has partnered with the NCC Directorate (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana) and the Rajya Sainik Board (West Bengal) to provide management education opportunities to serving and retired defence personnel, including Agniveers. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs through GITAM’s School of Business.
The initiative aims to leverage the skills and experience of military personnel who often retire in their mid-30s or 40s, retaining significant physical and mental capabilities. The MoU signing was attended by GITAM Registrar Prof. D. Gunasekaran, NCC Deputy Director General Col. Sameer Sharma, and Rajya Sainik Board Secretary Col. Partha Pratim Barik.
Col. Sharma emphasized the potential for these individuals to transition into new roles, both within the armed forces and in the civilian sector. Col. Barik highlighted the importance of Human Resource Management (HRM) training for military personnel, particularly those working with advanced technology. He expressed confidence in GITAM’s ability to prepare these individuals for future careers. The programs are designed to equip them with the necessary management skills for diverse professional pathways.
