**CHENNAI, January 3, 2025** – Director Shankar has announced that production on the highly anticipated Tamil film *Indian 3*, starring Kamal Haasan, will resume after the release of his Telugu debut, *Game Changer*. Speaking to the press in Chennai, Shankar confirmed that filming on *Indian 3*, the sequel to the 1996 blockbuster *Indian*, will restart once *Game Changer*, slated for release on January 10th, is complete.

*Indian 2*, the previous installment, released last July to overwhelmingly negative reviews and a wave of online criticism. However, Shankar remained unfazed by the backlash, stating that he views negative feedback as a challenge and that the film’s production employed countless individuals whose livelihoods depend on the industry. He dismissed the personal attacks, focusing instead on the completion of *Indian 3*.

*Indian 3* is expected to function as both a sequel and prequel, continuing the story of Senapathy (Haasan) from *Indian 2* while also exploring the backstory of his freedom-fighter father. *Game Changer*, a political action thriller starring Ram Charan, marks Shankar’s foray into Telugu cinema.
