Thu Jan 02 19:23:30 UTC 2025: ## PMK Founder Defends Grandson’s Appointment Amidst Family Dispute
**Villupuram, Tamil Nadu, January 3, 2025** – Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss announced Thursday that he has resolved his differences with his son and party president, Anbumani Ramadoss. However, he remains steadfast in his decision to appoint his grandson, Mukunthan, as the party’s youth wing leader, despite Anbumani’s objections. Ramadoss confirmed that Mukunthan has already received his official appointment.
The announcement follows a recent public disagreement between father and son at the PMK’s special general council meeting. Ramadoss addressed the media at Thailapuram, explaining the situation and highlighting other concerns.
Criticizing the Tamil Nadu police force, Ramadoss claimed it is “paralyzed” and not under the control of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. He cited several unsolved cases, including the Vengaivayal issue, the death of a Congress district president, and a triple murder in Tiruppur, as evidence of police inefficiency. He argued that Chief Minister Stalin’s infrequent meetings with the police force—once every six months—are inadequate and suggested bi-weekly meetings are necessary to ensure effective policing. Ramadoss stressed the need for the police to be given complete autonomy to perform their duties.
He further demanded the closure of illegal liquor outlets operating near government-run Tasmac shops across the state.
