**Hyderabad, January 3, 2025** – The Cyberabad police commissionerate has announced new guidelines streamlining the investigation of cybercrimes, effective January 1st. The updated system divides cases based on financial loss. Cybercrimes resulting in losses up to ₹1.5 lakh will be handled by local jurisdictional police stations, while those exceeding ₹1.5 lakh will be investigated by the Cyberabad cybercrime police station. Cases with no financial implications will also be handled at the jurisdictional level. The changes aim to improve efficiency, expedite case resolution, and optimize resource allocation in the fight against cybercrime.
