**New Delhi, January 1, 2025** – The central government has announced a New Year’s gift, slashing the price of commercial LPG cylinders. Effective January 1st, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by ₹14.50. While this brings some relief to businesses, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged.
Oil companies revised LPG prices on January 1st. In Delhi, domestic LPG cylinders continue to cost around ₹850-₹890. Similar prices persist in other major cities, including Mumbai, Hyderabad (₹855), Vijayawada (₹827), and Visakhapatnam (₹811).
The reduction in commercial cylinder prices is a significant move, following five consecutive months of price increases. In Kolkata, for example, the price has dropped from ₹1980 to ₹1966.
However, the lack of any change in domestic LPG cylinder prices means little respite for household consumers. This contrasts with a price reduction implemented around Holi last year.
