**Alappuzha, January 1, 2025** – Vellappally Natesan, general secretary of the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam, has sharply criticized the Left Democratic Front (LDF) for giving the Kuttanad Assembly constituency seat to the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). In an editorial published in the SNDP Yogam’s mouthpiece, *Yoganadam*, Mr. Natesan called the decision an “unforgivable mistake,” asserting that the NCP is a party lacking widespread support in both Kerala and Maharashtra, and plagued by internal conflicts within its Kerala unit.
Mr. Natesan specifically targeted Kuttanad MLA Thomas K. Thomas and NCP leader P.C. Chacko, deriding their efforts to secure a ministerial position for Mr. Thomas as a “laughing stock.” He argued that the LDF was not obligated to fulfill Mr. Thomas’s ministerial aspirations, characterizing him as a wealthy individual with no significant political legacy who views the Kuttanad constituency as a personal possession. Mr. Natesan credited the LDF’s popularity, not Mr. Thomas, for his electoral victory.
While critical of the NCP’s Kerala unit, Mr. Natesan exempted Kerala Forest Minister A.K. Saseendran, praising him as a leader with public support. Mr. Thomas’s office declined to respond directly to Mr. Natesan’s criticism, suggesting that the party leadership and the LDF would address the matter.
