Wed Jan 01 06:08:38 UTC 2025: ## South Central Railway RPF Rescues Over 1,300 Children in 2024 Operation
**Hyderabad, January 1, 2025** – The South Central Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF) successfully rescued 1,385 children, including 240 girls, during its “Operation Nanhe Farishte” in 2024. This significant achievement, spearheaded by IG-cum-principal chief security commissioner Aroma Singh Thakur, also saw the apprehension of 264 human traffickers and the recovery of 476 boys and 15 girls.
In addition to its anti-trafficking efforts, the RPF arrested 674 criminals in 367 cases under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, seizing railway property worth ₹83.31 lakh. The force also booked 68,746 cases against individuals violating railway regulations, collecting ₹1.31 lakh in fines. Furthermore, 460 offenders targeting passenger belongings were apprehended, leading to the recovery of stolen property worth ₹3.17 crore. A total of 127 ganja smugglers were arrested, with 2,311.31 kg of ganja seized.
The RPF also demonstrated its commitment to passenger assistance by securing and returning 2,576 instances of leftover luggage, valued at ₹6.94 crore.
South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain lauded the RPF’s efforts, highlighting their dedication to passenger safety and security.
