**DeWitt, MI (January 1, 2025)** — David Bonning Marr, 77, of DeWitt, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Marr, who was born in Detroit and graduated from Cranbrook School, lived a full and vibrant life. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Alma College in 1969 and maintained close friendships with his classmates throughout his life. After a career at Sony as a District Sales Manager, which took him and his wife Cathy to various locations including Denver, Minneapolis and Chicago, he retired and moved to DeWitt to be closer to family. He and Cathy recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Marr cherished time spent with loved ones, particularly summers at Lake Michigan in Onekama. He was a devoted supporter of his family, frequently attending their sporting events and capturing “action shots” with his camera. Known for his storytelling and life advice, he was deeply committed to mentoring younger generations.
Beyond his family, Marr enjoyed traveling and simple pleasures like feeding the squirrels in his yard. He is survived by his wife Cathy; brother Richard Marr; sister Janet Adolphsen Caywood; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and aunt.
Marr will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy of wisdom, support, and joy will be cherished by all who knew him.
