Wed Jan 01 10:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana NEET Aspirants Plead for AIQ Resignation Deadline Extension

**Hyderabad, [Date]** – Telangana NEET aspirants are facing uncertainty and distress due to the delayed commencement of state counselling, urging authorities to extend the resignation deadline for All India Quota (AIQ) seats. The state has released the final merit list and opened web options, but the first round of state counselling remains unannounced, leaving students in a precarious position regarding their AIQ seats.

The resignation period for AIQ round 2 concluded on December 30th, leaving those allotted seats in a dilemma. Many were forced to join colleges far from home, lacking clarity on whether they would secure a preferred seat in Telangana’s state counselling. Aspirants have written to the Health Minister, Indian Medical Association (IMA), KNRUHS, National Medical Commission (NMC), and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), requesting an extension until after the state’s first round of counselling or the January 8th Supreme Court hearing on the local quota issue.

One aspirant highlighted the significant loss of time, money, and resources experienced due to the delay. They cited examples of other states, such as Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, which extended AIQ resignation deadlines, and appealed for similar consideration in Telangana. The aspirants are urging immediate action to prevent further hardship.
