Wed Jan 01 14:38:17 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka CM Seeks Officials’ Cooperation for Economic Growth
**Bengaluru, January 1, 2025** – Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah called on IAS, IPS, IRS, and IFS officers to collaborate in implementing government programs aimed at bridging regional disparities and establishing Karnataka as a leading economic force in the country. Addressing senior officers on Wednesday, Mr. Siddaramaiah emphasized proactive duty performance for societal welfare, referencing B.R. Ambedkar’s work on socio-economic freedom as integral to political freedom.
He cited former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s economic reforms and social initiatives as examples of inclusive growth, highlighting the current government’s five guarantees for equality and the ₹35,000 crore investment in Kalyana Karnataka’s development. A committee headed by economist M. Govinda Rao is tasked with assessing the reduction of regional inequality since the D.M. Nanjundappa committee report.
Mr. Siddaramaiah refuted opposition claims of government financial constraints, attributing a ₹39,000 crore pending bill backlog to the previous administration’s hasty tendering practices without budget approval. The Chief Minister extended New Year greetings to the officers.
